Project overview

LG Chem developed a major electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility in Poland, creating a requirement for passive fire protection across the plant's structural steelwork.

The challenge

The coating solution

PPG supplied its Steelguard water-based intumescent coating system for the project.

The system was selected to provide passive fire protection to the structural steel while also providing corrosion protection and an appropriate finish.
