DESCRIPTION
High Performance Heat Resistant Coating for Metal Surfaces
Our water-based heat resistant coating system is designed to protect metal surfaces exposed to extreme temperatures, delivering long-term durability without compromising on environmental performance.
Suitable for both industrial and commercial use, this coating provides reliable protection for steel structures, exhaust systems, chimneys, and other heat-exposed equipment.
Developed as a modern alternative to traditional solvent-based systems, it offers the same high performance while reducing environmental impact.
Key Features
- Water-based, low VOC formulation
- Withstands temperatures up to 600°C
- Suitable as a single coat or finishing coat
- Excellent adhesion to properly prepared steel
- Resistant to oil, diesel, and fuel exposure after curing
- Smooth matt finish available in selected colours
- Environmentally friendly alternative to solvent-based systems
Typical Applications
This system is ideal for metal components regularly exposed to elevated temperatures, including:
- Exhaust systems and pipework
- Chimneys and flues
- Industrial ovens and burners
- Steel structures in high-heat environments
- Engines and heat shields
- Barbecues, stoves, and heating equipment
Heat resistant coatings like this are specifically developed to protect surfaces from thermal stress, corrosion, and rapid temperature fluctuations.
Application & Surface Preparation
For best performance, surfaces should be:
- Clean, dry, and free from grease or contaminants
- Mechanically prepared to remove rust and previous coatings
- Ideally blasted to SA 2½ standard
The coating is typically applied using conventional spray equipment under controlled conditions, ensuring consistent coverage and film thickness.
Coverage & Film Thickness
- Approximate coverage: 11–14 m² per litre
- Recommended dry film thickness: 25 microns
Proper application ensures optimal performance, adhesion, and long-term protection.
Drying & Curing
This is an air-drying system, but full performance is only achieved after heat curing.
- Initial drying: Ambient conditions
- Full cure: Heating above 220°C for approximately 60 minutes
This curing process activates the coating’s chemical resistance and durability.
Why Choose This System?
This coating offers a balance between performance, ease of application, and environmental responsibility.
Compared to traditional high-temperature coatings, it provides:
- Lower environmental impact
- Safer application conditions
- Comparable heat resistance and durability
- Reliable protection for industrial assets
