The joint is where the different building elements, materials meet. Often occurring within an element of construction or at part of an interface between two substrates. Joints allow for the needed movement of materials but must remain water, air, heat, cold and vapour etc. tight.
Avoid making mistakes where your building is quite possibly most at its vulnerable to leakage – at the joint.

Why is Joint Sealing So Important?

The concrete slab, the roofing membrane, the metal cover – all generally do not let water, moisture or air enter your building or structure. It is often only at the joints where a building is weakest to leakage. Only correctly applied, correctly selected high quality joint sealants will manage to keep your building or structure sustainably tight during its lifespan.

What should I use and where?

Sealants for General Purpose to Highly Specialised Applications

Arbothane 1245: has good adhesion to concrete, brickwork, metals and many other common construction substrates and cures on exposure to moisture vapour to form a tough but flexible rubber.

Fosroc Nitoseal MS50: is suitable for sealing joints in Concrete, Brickwork, Blockwork, Perimeter sealing around doors and windows, Non-trafficked floor joints: reservoirs, sewage tanks, sea walls, basements, bridges etc.

Arbomeric MP20 Polymer Sealant: a one part high modulus modified polymer sealant that cures on exposure to moisture vapour to form a tough but elastic rubber seal.

Uniseal 200/90 Coldpour: is a pitch free high performance two part elastomeric sealant specifically developed for sealing contraction and expansion joints in concrete paved areas, roads, bridge decks, airfield runways, taxiways, hard standings, fuelling areas, garage forecourts and transport depots. It is capable of accommodating above average movement and severe climatic conditions.
