DESCRIPTION

High-quality water-based sealant based on acrylic dispersion.

FEATURES:

After application, the product cures to a soft plasto-elastic rubber due to the evaporation of the water from the sealant. It is paintable with water-based and synthetic paints and is not corrosive towards metals.

RD-Acryl W is water-based, easy to handle, safe and has no fire risks.

Virtually odour free, it does not affect neighbouring occupants and can therefore be used in occupied buildings.

RD-Acryl W has perfect adhesion without use of a primer on most, even slightly damp, substrates. It was specifically developed for sealing connection joints between stairs, walls, ceilings, skirtings, windowsills, wooden and metal window frames, concrete, and brickwork.

SUBSTRATES:

Various plastics, plaster, concrete, cement, wood, metals, coated surfaces,
Not suitable for PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, soft plastics, neoprene and bituminous substrates.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS:

Application temperature +5C to +40C / 41F to 104F (applies to environment and substrates).

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:

All substrates must be solid, clean, dry, and free of grease and dust. Substrates to be cleared of all loose particles, absorbent substrates do not need to be absolutely dry.

Very porous substrates like: gypsum, airated concrete, limestone, etc, need to be primed with a mixture of 1 part Acryl-W and 2 parts water.

Always test adhesion prior to application. Finish and smooth with water.

APPLICATION MEANS:

A joint with the correct dimensions can absorb movements between building materials. The joint depth should always be in the correct relationship of the joint width.

A general rule is the ratio of joint depth to the width of the joint with a joint width up to 10 mm – 3/8 inches is 1:1, with a minimum of 5 mm in width and depth. For joints wider than 10 mm – 3/8 inches, the depth is the width divided by 3 plus 6 mm

DILUTION:

Product is ready for use.

DRYING TIME (20C – 68F):

Skin formation: 7 minutes
On touch: 15 minutes
Re-coatable: 24 hours or when fully dry.

CLEANING OF TOOLS:

Water
