Recommended Uses

Guard T-Wash is designed for treating galvanised steel before painting. The solution quickly turns the substrate black, providing visible evidence that the surface is ready to be painted. Also known as etch.

Application

Application is either by conventional spray or by clean rag / cloth (ensure correct P.P.E is used at all times - contact us for advice).

Thoroughly wet the surface which should turn black in approximately 5 minutes. When black colouration appears stable this should be washed down with clean water. Should this colouration wash off during this process, the application will need repeating.

For further information and guidance on application, please refer to the Data Sheet or contact us.

Drying and Curing Time

Should turn black in approximately 5 minutes.

Compatibility

Can be over coated with majority of coatings, both single pack and two component. Guard HBV and Guard MSP-2K are recommended products.

Surface Preparation

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease and contamination.

Cleanup

Thoroughly wash down surface with clean water prior to application, and allow to fully dry. If spray applying, ensure lines are fully flushed through with suitable cleaning solvent prior to re-using the gun with coatings.
